This policy explains how we use your personal data when you visit thekatzstudio.store or buy from us, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
The data controller is Nicholas Katsantonis, a sole trader trading as The Katz Studio, Flat 13, 49 Saint Quintin Avenue, London, W10 6NZ, United Kingdom. Email: info@thekatzstudio.store.
What we collect
- Order data: what you buy, prices, delivery method and order history.
- Contact data: your name, email address, and billing and delivery addresses, plus anything you send us by email or through our contact form.
- Payment data: payments are processed by Shopify Payments or the other payment provider you choose at checkout. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and how you use the site, collected through cookies (see below).
- Marketing preferences: only if you sign up to hear from us.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
- To take, make, deliver and support your order, and handle returns: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep tax and accounting records: legal obligation.
- To answer your questions, prevent fraud and keep the site secure and working: our legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails and to use non-essential cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
- Shopify hosts our store and runs our checkout and payments.
- Prodigi, our print partner, prints and posts your order, so it receives your name, delivery address and order details.
- Delivery companies used by Prodigi receive what they need to deliver your parcel.
- Our payment providers, professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as UK tax law requires. We keep messages and other contact data for up to two years after our last contact, and marketing data until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
Our store runs on Shopify, which uses cookies that are needed for the cart, checkout and security, plus optional analytics and marketing cookies. We only use optional cookies if you agree, and you can change your choice through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Shopify's cookie details are at shopify.com/legal/cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected, erased or restricted, object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@thekatzstudio.store. We will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
